In 2003, we bought 26 acres back in Idaho, south of Lewiston, where we lived before Alaska. Our friends Kipp and Lori bought a small cattle ranch, and sold us a corner piece. We love the desert, and will never move, but the Idaho Ranch will be a great summer home to escape the heat, and of course there are the mountain pack trips, fishing, and hunting. So now we have 2 homes for our "retirement"!

This was our first pack trip in Idaho since 1992. No one has visited this camp for 13 years, since Arleigh, Kim, amd I. We saw a number of elk, and bugled a 6-point bull to within 15 yards, but brush prevented a clean bowshot. It was great to be back in the Moose Mountains! |
